Aegis Swordsmanship Academy teaches Western European Swordsmanship; a unique  martial art based on a Sicilian style with a 1,000+ year history. This is not stage combat or reenactment. You will be taught how to use the techniques in defense of yourself and others. Training is balanced between mental and physical skills, as neither set is complete without the other. The program requires each student to work hard, but we also play hard. Swordfighting is above all something to get excited about and have fun doing!

The program is divided into 4 sections. Students begin with three consecutive 6-month courses entitled Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Swordsmanship. The student may then move on to the Specialties sections, where they will stay for as long as they choose to continue their studies. They are also allowed and encouraged to re-take any class they have already completed to refresh their memory and improve their form. Our program acknowledges that each student is different in terms of physicality and psychology. We will work closely with you to help you create a fighting style within the art which maximizes your strengths and  allows you to overcome or work around your weaknesses. Ours is truly a modern martial art, respecting but not bound by tradition.

There are many benefits to training in swordsmanship. They include increased physical fitness and stamina, greater mental focus and awareness of the world, more self-confidence and participation in a community of supportive people with similar goals.
