Intermediate Western European Swordsmanship

During the Intermediate course, students will build on the foundation formed in Basic and begin to expand on the options available to them as fighters. Their finesse will improve and they will become more adept at landing and consciously receiving sword shots in combat.

New weapons styles are introduced, including:

• Knives


• Single sword and open hand


• Dual sword (Florentine)

In addition to new hard skills, students will increase the individualization of their personal combat style as they learn more about themselves and the art. They will increase their confidence in the physical and mental aspects of fighting, leading to greater self-confidence in general. By training together they will become more experienced and adept at functioning in split teams and as a whole-class fighting unit.
